Phase 1: Launch & Leadership

1. Appoint a Ministry Leader & Core Team

Identify a leader with passion and/or personal experience with cancer (survivor, caregiver, medical background, etc.)
Recruit 3–5 volunteers trained in caregiving, prayer, or counseling
Assign roles: communication, visitation, prayer coordinator, resources manager

2. Meet with Pastoral Staff

Align with church leadership
Set launch timeline and integration points with existing ministries (prayer, meals, pastoral care)

3. Define Ministry Values

Phase 2: Quick-Start Support Offerings

1. Immediate Services to Begin

Prayer Support: Weekly intercessory team and prayer request system

Visitation & Check-ins: Offer home, hospital, or phone visits (with consent)
